ServiceWave will be held from the afternoon of the 10th of December until the 13th of December, immediately after the Future Internet Assembly event organised by the European Commission and hosted by UPM on the 9th and morning of the 10th December 2008.

The SOI (Service-Oriented Infrastructure) Working Group supported by NESSI-Grid issued a new version of its Strategic Research Agenda on grid-like service-oriented utility infrastructures in November 2007. This second SRA version features a complete coverage of a multitude of envisioned business scenarios including their associated requirements and challenges. Furthermore, it incorporates community input collected by more than 40 independent research/infrastructure projects as well as experts of the field.

During the first week of July, NESSI related FP7 projects NEXOF-RA (the NESSI Reference Architecture) and NESSI 2010 (NESSI Support Action) coordinated with the NESSI SME Working Group and launched a call for SME experts which closed on the 11th of July. Both of these projects have a specific open SME component. See results here
ISERD, the Israeli Directorate for EU FP aims at promoting joint Israeli-EU R&D. ISERD will hold an event dedicated to "a Service Based European platform for Leveraging Research & Development" on Sunday, September 14th, 2008 (10:00 – 14:00) at the ISERD OFFICE in Tel Aviv.

All NESSI Strategic Projects have been launched during the first semester of 2008. This first family of projects - EzWeb, Master, NEXOF-RA, Reservoir, SLA@SOI and SOA4ALL will all contribute to the elaboration of NEXOF, the NESSI Open Service Framework. The management of the contribution process and the definition of NEXOF's Reference Architecture are managed by NEXOF-RA.
NESSI is organising a workshop during the upcoming IMCSIT conference to reinforce links with the Polish Technology Platform on Software and Services. Workshop presentations will provide an update on NESSI, with a specific focus on experiences of ongoing national technology platforms and on the link of NESSI with national initiatives and platforms.More information at www.imcsit.org
